The Role:

SÜPRMARKT is seeking talented and dedicated Kitchen Staff. As the Line/Prep Cook at our vegan market, you will play a crucial role in creating delicious, nutritious, and innovative plant-based meals that cater to our culturally rich community. You will be responsible for food preparation, kitchen maintenance, and creating a nourishing environment for our guests.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Prepare and cook a wide range of plant-based dishes with precision and attention to detail, ensuring consistency and quality
  • Completing all tasks, in order, on the prep list from the Kitchen Manager
  • Labeling and stocking all ingredients on easily accessible shelves
  • Washing, chopping and sorting ingredients like fruits, vegetables and grains
  • Measuring quantities of seasonings and other cooking ingredients
  • Parboiling food, reducing sauces and starting first steps in various dishes
  • Participate in successful food preparation, cooking, plating, and cleaning, while adhering to food safety and sanitation standards
  • Minimize food waste by abiding by our sustainable kitchen practices
  • Work closely with the Kitchen Manager to put out healthy and safe food in a timely manner
  • Engage with customers to provide information about our vegan offerings, answer questions, and solicit feedback to improve the dining experience
  • Support with various SÜPRMARKT tasks as needed
  • Other duties as directed by management.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a line or prep cook, especially in a vegan or plant-based kitchen environment
  • Strong passion for great food with a strong work ethic
  • ServSafe certification
